They spray water on their backs with their trunks! Elephants live in families and are very smart. They can remember places and other elephants for many years.
2. Penguins
Penguins are birds, but they cannot fly. Instead, they swim! Penguins use their wings like flippers to move fast in the water. Most penguins live in cold places like Antarctica. They love to slide on their bellies over the ice. Penguins look like they are wearing little suits!
3. Kangaroos
Kangaroos live in Australia. They have strong legs and big feet. They do not walk — they jump! Some kangaroos can jump over 3 meters. Baby kangaroos are called joeys. A joey stays in its mother’s pouch for several months after it is born.
4. Giraffes
Giraffes have very long necks — the longest of any animal! A giraffe’s neck can be more than 2 meters long. They use their necks to reach leaves high in the trees. Giraffes also have long tongues — about 45 cm! They use their tongues to grab leaves.
5. Octopuses
Octopuses have eight arms. They live in the ocean and can change color to hide from other animals. This helps them stay safe. Octopuses are very smart. They can open jars and solve simple puzzles!
