Who Are Your Heroes? 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️
Everyone has someone they look up to—a person who inspires them to be brave, kind, or strong. In this fun reading activity, you will learn about celebrity heroes, famous people who do amazing things to help others! From actors who support good causes to athletes who make a difference in their communities, this lesson helps young learners build vocabulary, practice reading skills, and talk about real-life role models.

The reading is perfect for beginner to lower-intermediate ESL students. This activity sparks great classroom conversations while improving reading and speaking confidence.

Some celebrities are not just famous — they are also heroes. They use their time, money, and voice to help people and make the world a better place. These celebrities care about others and want to help in many different ways.
1. Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is a famous actress from the United States. She is known for her work in movies like Maleficent and Tomb Raider, but she is also a humanitarian. That means she helps people in need. She has visited many countries to meet refugees — people who must leave their homes because of war or danger. Angelina works with the United Nations and gives money to schools and hospitals around the world. She also speaks at big meetings to ask for peace and help for children.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best football players in the world. He plays with great energy and skill, but he is also known for his kindness. Ronaldo gives money to hospitals and helps children who are sick. He has paid for surgeries and medical care for people who cannot afford it. He also gives blood often, so he does not have any tattoos. He encourages others to donate blood and help people in need.

3. Emma Watson
Emma Watson is famous for playing Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. But she is also a strong voice for women’s rights. She works with the United Nations and started a campaign called HeForShe. This campaign asks men and boys to support equal rights for women and girls. Emma gives powerful speeches and visits schools to talk about education for girls. She believes that everyone should have the same chances in life, no matter their gender.

4. BTS (K-pop group)
BTS is a world-famous music group from South Korea. Millions of people love their music, but BTS also works to help young people. They started the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF to stop violence and bullying. The group talks about mental health and tells fans it is okay to ask for help. BTS gave over one million dollars to support this campaign. They show that music can bring love, strength, and kindness to the world. These celebrities remind us that being famous is not just about money or fans. It’s about using your voice and actions to make the world better. Anyone can be a hero, no matter who they are.
